Chris Brown has been ordered to spend another three months in rehab after it emerged that he was discharged from his anger management program for throwing a rock at his mother's car window.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the controversial star flew into a rage after a family session at the Malibu facility went awry.

The 24-year-old singer is said to have become extremely angry after his mother Joyce urged him to stay longer for extended treatment. Brown disagreed and shattered the window of her car during a violent outburst.

Details of the incident were revealed in a letter submitted to the court by the rehab facility, which discharged him after the outburst. He had signed a contract agreeing to refrain from violence while receiving treatment.

"Mr Brown proceeded to walk outside and pick up a rock and threw it through his mother's car window and it shattered," the document read.

The Fine China singer agreed to check into rehab for anger management in exchange for a lesser sentence when he appeared in a Washington court for an assault hearing.

But in the wake of his latest outburst Superior Court Judge James Brandlin ordered that Brown submit to drug testing, take prescription medication and complete 24 hours of community service.

Brown, who says he had issues with Attention Deficit Disorder and also underwent a period of depression, is still on probation for assaulting Rihanna after a pre-Grammy bash in 2009.
