England legend John Barnes has said that Liverpool will be just as competitive in the 2014-15 Premier League season, and he fully expects them to challenge for the title.
Despite the disappointment of seeing the Reds pipped to the Premier League title by Manchester City last season, the former Liverpool winger believes that the players and manager Brendan Rodgers will have learned from the experience, and be more than capable of fighting on both the domestic and European front next season.
Liverpool will open their 2014-15 Premier League campaign at home to Southampton on 17 August.
