The Jubilee Crystal Diamond, which the Queen will use to light the National Beacon as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, has been delivered to the Tower of London for safe-keeping.

A full marching band heads towards the Tower gates with its precious cargo. Bruno Peak known as the Pageant Master carefully carries the diamond on a purple cushion in front of him. Placed inside a simple gold crown. Yeomen look on, as he then hands the Jubilee diamond to the Constable of the Tower of London, Lord Dannatt. Who responds with a courteous nod. More than 4,000 Diamond Jubilee beacons will be lit across the globe in celebration of the Queen's 60-year reign.

The Queen will light the final beacon from the concert stage where Stevie Wonder, JLS, Sir Elton John and a host of stars will perform in her honour on June 4.After the pop stars have paid a musical tribute to the monarch in the shadow of Buckingham Palace, the Queen will walk out in front of the crowds and set the national beacon ablaze.
