Chelsea and England captain John Terry's alleged racist abuse of Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand has reportedly been captured by a second television camera according to The Sun newspaper.

Terry is currently the subject of separate investigations by the Football Association and Hammersmith and Fulham police into allegations he racially abused Ferdinand, the younger brother of Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand, during last month's ill-tempered West London derby at Loftus Road.

Although the 30-year-old Premier League stalwart maintains the whole incident is a misunderstanding and that he shouted the obscenity as a denial, new footage of the incident shot from a different angle to the one widely broadcast already, could yet cast further light on the allegation and indeed the player's immediate international future.

The Sun intimates the new footage, collated from hours of unseen footage shot by one of more than 20 Sky Sports cameras on October 23, has been sent to the police and the FA's disciplinary and governance unit. The new footage reportedly captures Terry allegedly calling Ferdinand a "f****** black ****" but like the material already witnessed, the moments leading up to the comment is obscured by other players.

Despite the severity of the allegations levelled against Terry, Fabio Capello is still expected to select the defender in his provisional England squad for their upcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden. The Italian had hoped the investigation would be concluded prior to his announcement of the squad, but whilst that is now incredibly unlikely given the recent involvement of the police and reports of new footage, Capello's instinct is to retain the player as his captain.

The England management are eager to presume Terry innocent until proven guilty and the centre-half, who was reinstated as the permanent England captain on March 19thof this year, has assured Capello he is in the right frame of mind to lead the side at Wembley a week on Saturday, against the World and European champions Spain.

The squad will be formally announced on Sunday evening at 2000 GMT after the latest round of Premier League fixtures but the players involved will be notified today. Capello is expected to have final discussions about Terry's involvement with the FA prior to the squad's unveiling, but the long-serving Chelsea captain will only be omitted if found guilty.
