Overview

Rafael Nadal's withdrawal from the French Open due to a wrist injury was a shock to fans. However, that now means Novak Djokovic is the overwhelming favourite to progress to the final for the fourth time in his career.

The world number one has been in brilliant form throughout the season, with him looking unstoppable at the moment. He comes into this clash after beating Steve Darcis 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round and though Djokovic suffered some nervous moments, he eventually pulled through. The Serb, who is yet to win the Roland Garros title, will know that with Roger Federer and Nadal not here, this is his best chance to complete a career Grand Slam.

2016 has been a bit of a struggle for Great Britain's Aljaz Bedene, who has not won successive matches since reaching the semi-final of the Chennai Open at the start of the year. The world number 65 beat Pablo Carreno Busta to reach the third round for the first time in his career but it looks unlikely that he will progress further in the competition.
