Partridge was part of the men's eight which scooped bronze at the London Games and Macleod played in the women's hockey team.

Police in Westminster launched an investigation and scoured CCTV for clues. A 29-year-old man was arrested and held at a west London police station for questioning.

DCI James Harman said: "Both Olympians are understandably desperate to be reunited with the medals they have dedicated their careers to win."
