The 2016 Fifa Club World Cup will see European giants Real Madrid take on Kashima Antlers at the International Stadium Yokohama on 18 December, Sunday. The Spanish capital club have won this tournament once in 2014 and will be targeting another success this year.

Zinedine Zidane's side registered a place after defeating Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final earlier in May. The European and the South American clubs will make it directly to the semi-final, leaving them to play only two matches, irrespective of the outcome.

The two losing semi-finalists will face each other for the third place finish. Real progressed to the last two following their comfortable 2-0 win over Club America. France international striker Karim Benzema opened the scoring the extra time of the first half.

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead in the stoppage time, which was sufficient for his side to make it to the final of the 2016 Fifa Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Antlers became the first Asian club to progress to the final of the tournament.

The Japanese outfit defeated South American outfit Atletico Nacional 3-0 in the first semi-final. After creating an upset in the last four, they will be hoping for another win to create another history when they take on Real on Sunday.
