Reform MP Sarah Pochin Says Male Colleagues Are 'So F***ing Chauvinistic' in Undercover Investigation
The remarks were recorded by an undercover reporter posing as a press officer during a Reform UK Christmas party

Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin openly complained about the 'male issue' in Nigel Farage's party, unaware that she was being filmed by an undercover reporter. The journalist went posed as a press officer, with the footage recorded during a Reform UK Christmas party before she officially started work in January 2026.
When Pochin was told that the new press officer would be starting in January, the MP for Runcorn and Helsby appeared excited. 'We so need women press officers,' she said.
Does Reform UK Have a 'Male' Problem?
'They are so f***ing chauvinistic,' Pochin continued, speaking to the undercover journalist. 'I go out on all the shows and go, "Oh no, it's lovely. They're all so welcoming."'
The reporter then asked: 'What do they do?' To that, Pochin replied: 'Well, they just exclude you if you're a woman. There's a bit of a male issue going on.' The video is part of ITV Exposure's undercover investigation into Reform UK's political operation.
Pochin did not respond to the broadcaster's requests for comment. Earlier footage from the investigation also showed Reform UK councillors and candidates making racist, lewd and violent remarks. In one of the videos, former Reform UK councillor Chris Whelan, who represented Castle Bromwich on Solihull Council, made vulgar comments about female colleagues and candidates.
Misogynistic Comments
'If she was my daughter, it would still be bath night on a Thursday. I'll wash you properly this time,' Whelan joked alongside two other Reform UK councillors.
In another incident, Whelan talked about a female Reform candidate in Birmingham. He said he 'would have been sniffing that seat as soon as she got up. If she'd have given me a hug, I'd have f***ing fingered her.'
Whelan resigned from Reform UK, citing personal and health reasons, shortly before the videos became public. He initially intended to remain on the local council as an independent but resigned from Solihull Council on 15 October 2026.
Reform UK's Solihull group condemned Whelan's comments as misogynistic and offensive.
Kemi Badenoch's Reaction
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said on social media that the investigation was precisely why the Tories could not work with Reform UK. 'The reported comments show yet again why we're not doing deals with Reform. We want Reform voters back, not Reform politicians,' she said.
'Reform voters are being let down by the people who claim to represent them. Many of these people were the ones who let them down in the Conservative Party. We are now under new management,' Badenoch added.
I’m in Edinburgh and being asked a lot of questions about ITV’s Reform expose.

Reform voters are being let down by the people who claim to represent…
The Tory leader has also criticised Reform UK over financial controversies involving senior figures: Farage, Robert Jenrick and Richard Tice.
Jenrick has faced scrutiny over donations to his former Conservative leadership campaign, while police have investigated payments to Reform UK involving a company controlled by Tice. Farage has faced separate scrutiny over an undeclared gift.
Faragae, Jenrick and Tice have denied wrongdoing in relation to the separate financial allegations.
Badenoch encouraged former Conservative supporters who had joined Reform UK to 'come home'. Conservative MP Ben Obese-Jecty also said the investigation should serve as a 'dire warning' to women considering joining Reform UK.
