Morrissey has deliberately walked into another row with yet another controversial statement after dressing his band in T-shirts emblazoned with the message "'We hate William and Kate" above an image of the royal couple when they got married.
The provocative stage gear was on full display at a gig in Argentina where he told fans that the Falkland Islands belonged to Argentina, not Britain.
He told a 15,000-strong crowd in Beunos Aires: "We all know that the Malvinas [Falklands] are Argentina's."
UK claims to the islands were the fault of the government and Argentinians should not "blame" British people, he said.
