Beloved off-road YouTubers Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans died in a crash exploring rugged terrain, just this past week.

Tourout and Yeomans, known for their channel Toyota World Runners, built a large following by sharing their off-road adventures across North and South America. With over 200,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 72,000 followers on Instagram, they documented their journeys through challenging terrains and customised vehicles. Their most notable project was creating the world's first Land Cruiser Chinook in 100 days, combining a Toyota Chinook camper with a Land Cruiser to produce a capable off-road vehicle.

The Fatal Incident

On 7 August 2025, Stacey and Matthew were driving through the mountainous region near Trout Lake in British Columbia when their vehicle was involved in a serious crash. The exact cause remains unconfirmed, but rescue teams suggest they likely lost control on the rocky route.

Rescue efforts were prompted at around 7:30 pm after reports of an alarming incident, with Kaslo Search and Rescue (SAR) attending the scene.

Rescuers arrived quickly due to precise location information, but one of the victims was found without vital signs. The other was transported to hospital but later succumbed to critical injuries. It remains unclear if they were filming at the time, as the couple frequently posted videos of their off-road trips. Shaun, creator of The Story Till Now YouTube channel, said he had spoken with Matthew just the day before the accident.
