'Self-Centred' Nicola Peltz 'Flounced Out' When Marc Anthony Called Victoria Beckham the 'Most Beautiful Woman' on Wedding Day

The fairy-tale union of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz was meant to be the social event of the decade, but it has instead become a masterclass in family friction. Reports from the 2022 Palm Beach nuptials suggest that the bride was left furious when her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, allegedly stole the limelight.

Brooklyn previously claimed in a six-page tirade against his parents that his mum 'hijacked' his first dance with his wife and danced with him inappropriately, leaving him 'humiliated'. However, an account from another witness suggests that the drama sprang from Peltz's jealousy towards her mother-in-law after Marc Anthony hailed the former Spice Girls singer the 'most beautiful woman in the room'.

'She Just Didn't Want To Share The Limelight'

Rumours of a falling out between Brooklyn and his parents have circulated since his marriage to Peltz. The family feud was confirmed in December after his younger brother, Cruz Beckham, publicly said Brooklyn blocked his family on social media. Their conflict reached fever pitch when Brooklyn shared a lengthy message on Instagram Stories criticising his parents and accusing them of disrespecting his wife.

A butler present at the event spoke with The Sun and shared new details about the family drama. According to the butler, singer Marc Anthony introduced Victoria during his performance and called Posh the 'most beautiful woman in the room' before performing a 'dancey track'. The compliment did not sit well with the bride.

'She just flounced out,' the source claimed. 'Put simply, she just didn't want to share the limelight with Victoria or anyone. She's extremely self-centred.' The insider stressed it was just a two-minute moment on centre stage during the three-day nuptials, but it was 'too much for Nicola'. Peltz reportedly became emotional when the mother and son took the dance floor.

During the dance, the singer-turned-designer was 'throwing shapes' and 'twirling her son'. At one point, Brooklyn's hands were on his mum's waist and her arms were around his neck. The sight allegedly led Peltz to leave the room, and her family followed. Another source said there was 'no malice' on Victoria's end and that she was 'a tad tipsy and having fun'. It was reportedly Peltz who didn't want her groom 'to dance with his mum at all', claiming she was 'so humiliated and furious to have been upstaged'.

'Hijacked' Dance Was Not True

A witness called Brooklyn a 'big fat liar' for claiming that his mum 'hijacked' his first dance with Nicola. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the woman laughed off the allegation against Victoria, saying the newlyweds already had their first dance. Peltz even danced with her father afterwards.

Marc Anthony reportedly took the stage in the latter part of the reception, around 11 p.m., when the guests, including Victoria, had already drunk several glasses of alcohol. Victoria and Brooklyn's dance was reportedly the 'third dance of the night'. 'It's 11 o'clock, she'd been drinking for hours. And then suddenly, Marc Anthony comes on stage and starts singing some sexy Latino songs,' the woman said. 'I mean, personally, at that point, I would have been dry humping the Tower of Margaritas. She is Posh Spice, you let her grind on your grandad, your flipping dog.'

The woman then criticised the couple for their claims against Victoria without releasing the footage. 'And Brooklyn and Nicola won't even release the tapes. Are you joking?' she added. 'Liars, liars. Your pants [are] on fire.'

Brooklyn's Account of the Wedding Dance

In his lengthy tirade, Brooklyn alleged that Victoria was disrespectful to his wife, claiming she would invite women from his past to make the couple 'uncomfortable'. He said on their wedding day, she stole his first dance with Peltz. 'My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,' Brooklyn wrote. 'In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.'

Brooklyn said the incident prompted them to renew their vows to 'create new memories of our wedding day'. He also claimed his mother 'cancelled' Peltz's bridal gown 'in the eleventh hour', forcing his bride to 'urgently find a new dress'. However, Peltz's custom Valentino couture wedding dress had been widely reported as a year in the making. Peltz confirmed in an interview that she flew to Rome and 'designed it with everyone at Valentino'—contradicting Brooklyn's claim.
