Amanda Bynes Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Actress Amanda Bynes was arrested on Friday morning in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The What I Like About You star was asked to pull over at the intersection of Robertson and Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood when her car hit the right rear of a sheriff's vehicle.

Bynes was in a black BMW car and was trying to overtake the deputy's car from the right side. The incident ended up in minor paint damage to both the cars.

"Bynes was attempting to pass a cop car in her black BMW, when she sideswiped the right rear panel of the vehicle. She was pulled over and cops determined she was not fit to be behind the wheel," the TMZ has reported.

An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Bynes at 3 am under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The former Nickelodeon star was released around 10.30 am on a bail of $5000 (£3149).

Bynes was frequenting the party scenes in Hollywood recently. She was seen leaving the Greystone Manor on St. Patrick's Day believed to be in an intoxicated state, according to a TMZ report.

In an earlier incident, Bynes was pulled over for talking on a cell phone while driving. But she drove away while the cop was writing the ticket. Later the actress signed the ticket at the police station.

Meanwhile, a mugshot of Bynes obtained by the TMZ from the LA County Sheriff showed her in full make up and sporting pink dyed hair. She was wearing a black blazer.

Bynes' lilac dyed hair has become a topic of discussion on Twitter after the mugshot appeared on the internet.

Some tweets read:

Bynes tweeted a month ago that she died her hair lilac. The tweet read: "Did I mention I dyed my hair lilac?!?!?! LILAC !!!!!!!!"
