What Was John Crawley's Cause of Death?
It seems that Crawley's medical ordeal began weeks before his passing. A GoFundMe page that was originally started to help with his medical bills reveals that the TikTok star went to the hospital on 4 August because he was 'having trouble breathing.'
Anthony Caruso, a friend and former podcast co-host of Crawley's, who started the GoFundMe campaign, also hinted that things weren't looking good from the start. In his first post, Caruso explained that Crawley 'stopped breathing,' and that he 'went past 66% (O2 levels),' requiring a ventilator. Although Crawley's O2 levels eventually went back up to 100%, Caruso wrote that 'his breathing condition is still very bad.' At that time, Caruso set up the GoFundMe page to help pay for Crawley's bills in intensive care.
Caruso posted another update on 17 August after speaking with Crawley's mother. According to him, the TikTok star was 'awake and responsive.' However, Crawley remained with 'lung/breathing issues.' On 19 August, Caruso posted a final update, confirming that Crawley passed away the day before. 'His mother says [sic] told me to thank you all,' he wrote. 'The fundraiser will continue to go on to support fundraising a funeral/helping John's mother.'
Following his death, the Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany has taken charge of Crawley's funeral arrangements. According to TMZ, James Steele, the funeral home's director, has revealed Crawley's cause of death to be cardiac arrest. 'Knowing him personally, John was a good guy,' Steele also said. 'He lit up a lot of people's worlds.'
As of writing, the memorial plans for Crawley are still being finalized. Fans wishing to pay tribute can send memorial trees or memorial flowers to Crawley's family through the links posted by the Glenfield Funeral Home.
The funeral home has also provided a link where fans can send funds to help cover Crawley's funeral costs.
