The Disney+ hit High Potential is set to return for season 2 in just a few weeks. In the latest season, Kaitlin Olson reprises her role as single mom Morgan, who continues to consult on cases with the cops.

This time, however, it's not just shocking crimes and dangerous suspects that will turn Morgan's life upside down. Season 2 may also see Morgan reunite with her ex-husband, Roman, after learning in Season 1 that he is alive. But who will play him onscreen?

Morgan Has Been Looking For Her Husband in 'High Potential' Season 1

In Season 1, Morgan is introduced as a single mom who has an amicable relationship with her ex-husband. As it turns out, however, Morgan has two exes, although she hasn't seen her first ex, Roman, since he went out to buy diapers for the couple's daughter, Ava (Amirah J).

Since then, Morgan's search for Roman has been playing out in the background. Eventually, however, she learns that he's alive. He's also possibly working as an FBI informant. And while Season 1 didn't reveal much about what Roman has been up to this whole time, Morgan is keen to explore his story more. 'I want to know what's going on with Ava's dad,' the actress even remarked during an interview with Deadline.

Who Will Play Roman?

With Roman alive, it makes sense for the character to feature in the show's season 2 storyline. After all, Morgan was wondering about him the entire first season, and Ava would love to finally see her father after all these years. But will the show also feature this much-awaited reunion and explore the emotional consequences of his surprising return?

The answer is rather complicated. On the one hand, Morgan's arc with Roman has been building up to this moment since the beginning, with High Potential showrunner Todd Harthan telling Us Weekly that they have 'talked about it quite a bit.' At the moment, however, they're not ready to show Roman onscreen just yet because they still haven't found an actor to play the character. 'So the short answer is no,' Harthan added.

That said, they are looking. Olson, who also serves as one of the show's producers alongside Harthan, is involved in casting her onscreen ex-husband. 'She's very active and involved with casting and has incredible instincts,' Harthan remarked. 'We have some favorites and actors I really respect that would be great.'

He also later emphasized that Roman is a 'really important and amazing piece of casting,' suggesting that the character will be integral to whatever comes next in the storyline. As much as the audience would love to meet him soon though, they're not rushing it. 'I think frustration is a good thing with an audience,' he added. 'It is a healthy frustration — don't give them too much of what they want too soon.'

Meanwhile, Harthan has also revealed that they're thinking about expanding Morgan's family onscreen too. 'We've never met Morgan's mother and father either,' the showrunner pointed out.

High Potential Season 2 premieres on September 16.
