'All Good Dates Must Come to an End': Amelia Dimoldenberg Announces Chicken Shop Date's Final Series
The popular interview series concludes with a few final episodes, marking the end of an era for the digital creator

'Chicken Shop Date' is to end after more than a decade, Amelia Dimoldenberg has announced, telling fans there will be 'a few final dates' before she says goodbye to the hit interview series that made her a star.
The 32-year-old presenter revealed the news on Instagram on Thursday, 3 September, sharing a series of photographs. Dimoldenberg also penned a handwritten message reflecting on the programme that helped establish her as one of Britain's best-known digital creators.
Amelia Dimoldenberg Announces the End of 'Chicken Shop Date'
The announcement opened with the message 'All good dates must come to an end', setting the tone for the final chapter of the series. Dimoldenberg then explained that the idea for 'Chicken Shop Date' first came to her when she was 17. Her original ambition was rather different from the global success the show would eventually achieve.
'When I was 17 I had a fantastic idea that I might meet the love of my life on a date in a chicken shop,' she wrote. 'I've spent my entire twenties sitting across from the most incredible people, people I'd always dreamt of meeting.'
Over the years, however, the show became less about finding romance and more about creating unconventional celebrity interviews known for their awkward silences, deadpan humour, and unexpectedly personal questions. Looking back on the show's run, Dimoldenberg described 'Chicken Shop Date' as her 'very own rom-com'.
'I am so grateful to everyone who has followed me on this journey and found some joy in these episodes,' she added. 'I never thought I'd stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it's now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.'
Before she sets off for her next adventure, Dimoldenberg promised that the programme will get a proper farewell. 'I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates...coming very soon,' she concluded.
Dimoldenberg has not announced a specific release date for the final episodes or revealed who her last guests will be. She has only said the 'few final dates' are 'coming very soon.'
How 'Chicken Shop Date' Became a Hit
The series began in 2014 and grew from Dimoldenberg's earlier work interviewing grime artists as a teenager for a youth magazine project.
The programme's origins can be traced to a youth club where Dimoldenberg worked on a magazine and developed connections and skills that helped launch her career.
What began as a relatively small project developed into a major online interview platform, attracting some of the biggest names in entertainment.
Among Dimoldenberg's recent guests have been Paul McCartney, Zara Larsson and Conan O'Brien, while previous episodes have featured stars including Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter and Dave.
Amelia Dimoldenberg's Next Chapter
The end of 'Chicken Shop Date' comes as Dimoldenberg continues to work on projects beyond the series. She has taken on a number of other entertainment roles, and reports have highlighted her involvement in a romantic comedy being developed with Amazon MGM Studios.
Dimoldenberg has said she plans to mark the end of the show with a few final episodes. The series, which has run for more than a decade, will conclude after these last instalments.
