Reports of Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon getting engaged have been circulating for quite some time.

The reports gained credence when Brown showed off a sparkling diamond on her ring finger in August, though it was not officially announced. In the latest clip released from Brown's Lifetime reality show, The Houston Family Chronicles, she has reportedly confirmed that she is indeed engaged to Gordon.

According to the clip on E!Online, Bobbi, daughter of late singer Whitney Houston, reveals her plan to get married to Gordon.

"We're engaged!" Brown announces the news to their family. In another trailer, the family members are seen exchanging tense looks over Brown's relationship with Gordon. Gary Houston, Whitney's brother, is also seen having a heated discussion with Gordon.

"No one knew that from a godson you would turn into a boyfriend. No one knew that," Gary says.

Gordon reacts: "The family has me out to be a bad person."

Though Brown's family is against the decision, she is firm that nothing is going to change her mind: "They want to see us fail. We won't," she says.

The couple has dealt with a lot of drama: they were spotted together hugging and holding hands shortly after Houston's funeral.

"We're just close -- just going through her mom's passing and grieving together," Gordon once tweeted.

According to a report in TMZ, Houston invited Gordon to live with her more than a decade ago after learning that the woman who gave birth to him could no longer care for him and raised him like a son, alongside Brown. As a result, many people, including family members, were shocked when the two young adults began dating.

On Brown's 19th birthday, 4 March, Gordon openly expressed his feelings for her, sending her the tweet: "Happy Birthday ... I love you." The couple went a step ahead, getting matching wrist tattoos of doves surrounding the letters "WH," in honour of Whitney Houston.

Talking about her late mother, Brown says in the promo: "I didn't see her as an idol. The glam and glitz ... I didn't see that. I saw a mom."

The reality television series premieres on 24 October.
