Transfer Rumours: The Great Arsenal Summer Shake Up

Gervinho netted fifteen goals and contributed 10 assists in Lille's title winning season and he would make Arsene Wenger's side a far greater force in front of goal. Added to this, last week of Nicklas Bendtner's announced his intention to leave the club to find first team football, what is clear is Arsenal need to invest in their striking options. Marouane Chamakh had a less than impressive first season and Wenger will be looking to Gervinho to forge a potent strike force with Robin van Persie.

However, the newspaper suggests that Barcelona believe that Arsenal are now ready to settle on a deal for the Spanish star after Arsene Wenger's rather mixed messages over his captain's future at the Emirates. Fabregas is currently in Spain and Barcelona will use this to try and lure Fabregas into a deal however price could be a stumbling block. Arsenal rate their captain at £50m but Barcelona have said they will not be prepared to pay more than £35m for to bring Fabregas back to the Nou Camp.
