Chris Brown Appears in London Court Over Alleged Bottle Attack at Mayfair Nightclub

Chris Brown has appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London as part of ongoing legal proceedings relating to an alleged bottle attack at a Mayfair nightclub. The RnB singer attended the brief hearing on Wednesday to formally confirm his name, speaking only once during the eight-minute session. Dressed in a white jacket over a black shirt and grey trousers, Brown arrived accompanied by security guards and later waved to supporters seated in the public gallery.
The 36-year-old has previously pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following what prosecutors describe as an 'unprovoked attack' on former friend Abraham Diaw at the Tape private members' club in February 2023. Brown has also denied possessing an offensive weapon, a bottle in a public place, as well as a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm during the venue's Dirty Martini club night. His co-defendant, vocal coach Omololu Akinlolu, has also denied the assault charge.
The case follows Brown's arrest at Manchester's Lowry Hotel in May last year, just hours after arriving in the UK for the launch of his tour. He was later granted bail after paying a £5 million security fee, allowing him to continue touring under strict conditions. Both defendants are due to return to court for a further pre-trial hearing in April, ahead of a trial scheduled for October.
