Halle Berry has been ordered by a court to pay her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry $20,000 (£12,700) a month in child support for their four-year-old daughter.

The Oscar-winning actress, 45, had been involved in a highly-publicised custody battle with the 36-year-old Canadian model.

Aubry is reported to have requested $15,000 to $20,000 a month to enable their daughter Nahla to live comfortably.

The former couple, who split in April 2010, are in the process of resolving another dispute over Nahla.

Even though a joint custody agreement in place, Aubry is unhappy with the X Men star's plans to take the youngster to Paris to live with her and her fiancé, Olivier Martinez.

This is not the first time a female star has had to fork out a hefty sum to their ex for child support.

In 2008, Britney Spears was ordered to pay her ex-husband $20,000 a month, plus pay his lawyer's fees of $250,000.
