A Facebook post that claims Jay Z cheated on Beyonce, and that a tape was discovered by her sister Solange Knowles, has turned out to be a Facebook scam.

"[SHOCKER VIDEO] Jay-Z Cheats on Beyonce with tape Found by Solange Knowles," the title reads.

The image used for the Facebook post is from a video interview of Jay Z in 1997, where he is seen sitting beside two females who are completely naked.

However, there is no sex tape of Jay Z, and the link directs one to a page that look likes Facebook. Then the user is asked to provide it access to his or her Facebook account before viewing it, thus spreading the scam.

Scammers often use sensational news or false stories with a provoking headline because users tend to share them without verifying the news.

"The scammers or cybercriminals behind this scam will change the website names and images, so watch out for similar scams with different website names and images," reads a post from security blog Online Threat Alerts. "Once on the website, the victim will be asked to complete surveys or share the same website before he/she can view the video."

Beyonce and Jay Z are the ultimate music power couple. The two first met when they collaborated on the track, Bonnie & Clyde, in 2002, and got married in secret in 2008.

The couple were recently hit by reports that they are having marital issues.

Last month, during the Met Gala after party at New York City's Standard Hotel, Jay Z's closeness with designer Rachel Roy allegedly provoked his sister-in-law, Solange, to fly into a rage. Footage of Solange physically attacking Jay Z in an elevator at the hotel emerged soon after.
