A surprise cancellation of all 12 of Usher's shows in Sydney and Melbourne has left Australian fans feeling down under while organisers and ticket providers fail to give an explanation.

Usher was scheduled to play six shows at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena in November and a following six shows at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena in December.

The shows were to be a part of his Past Present Future world tour to celebrate his 30-year music career.

However, just weeks after tickets went on sale, Australian fans received an email from Ticketek informing them that their concerts had been axed with no explanation as to why.

They would have been the first shows Usher had played in the country in seven years since he headlined RNB Fridays Live tour back in 2018.

Radio Silence From Usher And Event Organisers

The Texan artist and Live Nation have not addressed the removal of all 12 concerts in Australia.

The 'Australia Tour Dates' section on Usher's website is now blank, containing only the words 'Don't see your city?' in small white font accompanied by an RSVP sign-up link for fans to be notified about future events.

Ticketek, who informed fans of the cancellation, failed to give an explanation as to why the Australian leg of the tour had been cut.

'Following his highly anticipated return to Europe and the massive success of his 2024 North American tour, multi platinum, 8-time GRAMMY award-winning, global entertainment icon USHER announced the Australian leg for his highly praised USHER: Past Present Future 2025 Global Tour,' the ticketing website had initially promised.

But just weeks later, a new statement appeared on the Ticketek website.

'The promoter of USHER's Australian Tour regrets to advise that the scheduled shows to take place in November/ December, will no longer be proceeding,' the announcement read.

Ticketek promised fans they would receive an automatic full refund for their purchased tickets. Those who bought their tickets through a Ticketek agency or using Ticketek vouchers have been emailed to provide further information so their refund can be processed, the company said.

'Customers should allow approximately 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account,' the statement concluded.

Fans Were Left Devastated

Devastated by the sudden cancellation and confused by the lack of reasoning, fans took to Usher's Instagram comments to seek answers from the star himself.

'Why has the Australian Tour been cancelled this far in advance??? Been waiting forever to see you in concert and now it's been cancelled 😭😭' one upset fan commented on the artist's most recent post.

'Why did you cancel Australia ?! I was looking forward to the show !? So disappointing,' another said.

Some fans who were flying into Sydney or Melbourne from afar pointed out that although they were refunded the cost of their tickets, they would still lose money on pre-booked flights and accommodation.

'So are you going to refund me the non refundable flights and accommodation because a group of 8 of us are flying in from another state!' an Australian commented.

With no tour dates ever being set for New Zealand, many of Usher's kiwi fans planned on flying across the ditch to see the singer.

'Usher man what you up to ! It's always been a life long dream to see you . I'm from New Zealand and brought tickets to see you in Sydney and paid for flights and accommodation. 😭😭 so much money wasted 💔,' a kiwi fan wrote.

Ticket-purchasers for the Australian tour dates can only wait to see if Usher, Live Nation or Ticketek will make a further announcement providing more information about the tour's cancellation.
