Is Karoline Leavitt Joining 'The View'? Former WH Official Could Appear on Show Trump Called 'Stupid'

Karoline Leavitt could be swapping the White House briefing room for the famously combative table of ABC's 'The View' following her departure as President Donald Trump's press secretary.

Leavitt, 29, completed her final day as the 36th White House press secretary on Thursday, 27 August. The White House described her as the youngest person ever to hold the position, while Trump called her 'one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office'.

Now, reports suggest 'The View' is interested in bringing one of Trump's most prominent former spokespeople onto the programme.

Could Leavitt Join 'The View'?

ABC producers are reportedly interested in having Leavitt appear initially as a guest, potentially giving both sides an opportunity to see how she interacts with the programme's existing panel.

Official negotiations for a permanent role have not begun, according to the Daily Mail report cited by the Irish Star. However, ABC representatives have reportedly expressed interest to people in Leavitt's circle, while a source claimed she has received an invitation to appear as a guest.

Leavitt has not publicly confirmed whether she intends to accept the invitation.

A potential appearance would be particularly notable given the programme's contentious relationship with Trump and his administration.

Trump Has Repeatedly Attacked 'The View'

Trump has previously branded 'The View' 'stupid' and described its panellists as 'really dumb people'. Despite that history, he is reportedly receptive to the prospect of Leavitt appearing on the programme.

Leavitt herself has already clashed with members of the panel.

Whoopi Goldberg previously criticised Leavitt over comments she made about 'wokeness' in the media, saying the remarks 'really p---ed me off'.

Co-host Joy Behar also questioned why Trump selected Leavitt for the White House role, suggesting she had been appointed because, 'according to Donald Trump, she's a 10'.

Those previous exchanges could make a Leavitt appearance particularly combustible if she ultimately accepts.

Leavitt Leaves White House After Historic Tenure

Leavitt stepped down shortly after welcoming her second child, daughter Viviana, saying she wanted to devote more time to her family. She is also mother to two-year-old son Nicholas.

Her departure was confirmed by the White House on Thursday, which published a lengthy tribute to her tenure and highlighted some of her most combative exchanges with journalists.

Trump has publicly said he understands and respects Leavitt's decision, although he joked during a White House event that she had decided she 'loved her children more than she loved Donald Trump'.

Leavitt is not expected to disappear from Trump's political orbit entirely. She has said she intends to join the MAGA Inc. super PAC and is expected to remain an adviser to the president.

Whether that next chapter will also include a seat opposite Goldberg, Behar and the rest of 'The View' remains uncertain. For now, what has been reported is interest in a guest appearance rather than a confirmed permanent position.
