Man Allegedly Murders Girlfriend and Two Kids With Glock After She Said Her Ex Was 'Better in Bed'

A 29-year-old man has been charged with three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon after telling Las Vegas police he had shot his girlfriend and her two children, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

Juan Carlos Orona was taken to the LVMPD's Southeast Area Command on the evening of 1 September and reported that he had shot Nohani Flores-Osuna (41) and her children, Maiya Deleon Flores (16) and Noah Morales Flores (7), at an apartment in the 5100 block of O'Bannon Drive.

LVMPD said it received a call at about 7:10pm from Orona, who reported he had shot his girlfriend and her two children and wanted to turn himself in at the Southeast Area Command.

Coroner Rules Deaths of Mother and Two Children as Homicides

Officers who responded to the Madison West apartment complex on O'Bannon Drive found Flores-Osuna and the children with gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Clark County Coroner's Office later identified the victims and listed their causes and manners of death. Flores-Osuna and Maiya Deleon Flores died from multiple gunshot wounds, while Noah Morales Flores died from a gunshot wound to the head. The deaths were classified as homicides.

Orona was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen. Police said it remained unclear whether the injury was self-inflicted. He remains in the Clark County Detention Center without bail.

Arrest Report Details and the 'Better in Bed' Claim

According to an arrest report released by LVMPD, Orona told investigators he had been staying with Flores-Osuna for between three and six months and had helped her secure the apartment and pay rent.

Earlier on 1 September, he became angry after seeing her vehicle at the same location as a car belonging to a man identified in the report only as Henry, whom Orona described as Flores-Osuna's ex-boyfriend.

Orona told investigators that Flores-Osuna admitted having sexual relations with Henry and said Henry was 'better in bed' than Orona.

The report states that after hearing this, Orona said he 'blacked out.' He later told police that when he 'came to,' he was holding his Glock 9mm in the bathroom and found Flores-Osuna and the children dead on the floor.

Investigators recovered 10 spent 9mm cartridge cases at the scene. Orona did not deny shooting the three victims but said he could not remember who he shot first or why, telling police he remembered the victims either yelling at him or moving towards him during the alleged blackout.

His father also told investigators that Orona said he had 'lost control of himself' after the confrontation.

Charges and Next Court Date

Orona faces three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and 10 counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure. He is scheduled to return to court on 9 September.

LVMPD described the incident as isolated and said there was no ongoing threat to the public. Police are investigating what they described as a domestic-related incident.

The precise sequence of events remains under investigation, and Orona's account will be examined as the case proceeds. Orona has been charged in connection with the deaths, but the charges are allegations and do not establish guilt. The investigation and court proceedings are ongoing.
