The football world is placed under the spotlight as Italian Police continue to investigate the countrywide match-fixing soccer scandal.

Police arrested the captain of Lazio, Stefano Mauri today. Seen here in a police car. The Juventus trainer Antonio Conte is also under investigation as is Domenico Criscito. Police also visited Coverciano, the Italian national team headquarters. As well as Mauri, police also arrested former Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto.

Today's operation was part of "Last Bet", a wider investigation into match-fixing in Italian soccer which has already seen a number of arrests of current and former Italian players. This follows the move last year by the Italian Ministry last year who set up a special match-fixing task force in response to a number of high-profile cases.
