American reality television star Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé were both at the 2014 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, but chose to keep distance from each other at the event.

Though Beyoncé's husband Jay Z is close friends with Kardashian's fiancé, Kanye West, it does not appear that the Halo singer wants to develop the same relationship with Kardashian.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star - who wore a full-length blue Lanvin gown with black detail - posted pictures of herself on Instagram with celebrities including West, Jay Z, Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Kate Bosworth and more, but Beyoncé was no where to be seen.

Last month, the two happened to both have an appointment with LA dermatologist Dr Harold Lancer at his Beverly Hills office, and it is reported that Beyoncé was not pleased.

According to Radar Online, Kardashian "seemed so excited to see Beyoncé and was really eagerly going over to her".

"But Beyoncé looked like she wanted nothing to do with Kim and was really trying to stay away from her," a source said. "Kim was basically fawning all over her!"

The eyewitness added that while Kardashian gushed about her daughter North West, "Beyoncé looked like she couldn't have cared less … It seemed so clear that she did not want to talk with Kim and was just being polite to her. They really didn't look at all like friends."

And Beyoncé reportedly does not want to attend Kardashian and West's wedding in Paris on 24 May.

"Beyoncé's motto has always been, less is more. But clearly when it comes to Kim, more means more," the source said. "She knows she'll have to go to the wedding, but really does not to want to."
