First Look at 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Teaser Drops As Filming Kicks Off In Scotland
Tom Holland unveils a darker, stripped-back Spidey suit as Marvel signals a bold new chapter for Peter Parker's gritty return to the streets.

On Spider-Man Day, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures surprised fans with a double whammy: the first teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day dropped just as filming kicked off in Glasgow. The teaser, released via the film's official social channels, showcases Tom Holland's revamped Spidey suit. Gone are the Stark-tech flourishes, replaced by a darker, street-level design with raised webbing that signals a grittier tone for Peter Parker's next chapter.
The back-to-basics look reflects the fallout from No Way Home, with Peter now stripped of his allies, gadgets, and public identity. Set photos, some possibly AI-generated, had sparked early buzz, but the teaser gives fans a clearer picture of where the story is headed. Drawing inspiration from the Brand New Day comic reboot, the film is expected to introduce new characters like Jackpot and Mister Negative. Rumours are also swirling about a Punisher crossover and the return of Harry Osborn.

In a recent GQ interview, Tom Holland revealed he is already knee-deep in stunt rehearsals for the upcoming film, describing the process as both 'strenuous' and exhilarating. Directed by Shang-Chi's Destin Daniel Cretton and written by No Way Home scribes Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day reunites Holland with Zendaya and introduces Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas to the cast. As cameras begin rolling in Glasgow, the city will serve as the backdrop for Peter Parker's redefined world. With a release date set for 31 July 2026, Marvel is preparing the ground for what could be the most grounded and emotionally charged Spider-Man film in years.
