Nancy Guthrie Case: Savannah Admits Missing Mum 'May Already Be Gone', Pleads for 'Miracle'

Savannah Guthrie has announced a $1 million family reward for information leading to the recovery of her missing mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson home last month.

The Today co-anchor revealed the offer in an emotional Instagram video posted Tuesday morning, also confirming that her family will donate $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to assist other families in similar circumstances.

Family Offers $1 Million Reward in Nancy Guthrie Case

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of 31 January after dining at the home of her daughter Annie. She failed to attend a scheduled church event the following morning, prompting relatives to visit her house, where they found signs of her disappearance and contacted emergency services around midday on 1 February.

Police believe she was taken from her home during the night. Authorities have yet to name any suspects or persons of interest in the case, though they have confirmed that a masked individual was captured on a Nest doorbell camera outside Guthrie's home.

'Please keep praying without ceasing,' Savannah Guthrie said in the video. 'We still believe — we still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home. Hope begets hope. As my sister says, we are blowing on the embers of hope.'

However, Guthrie also acknowledged that the family is preparing for what she called a 'grim possibility'.

'We also know she may be lost,' she said. 'She may already be gone. She may have gone home to the Lord that she loves, and is dancing in heaven with her mom and dad, her beloved brother Pierce, and our daddy.'

Authorities in Pima County continue to investigate the disappearance, working in coordination with the FBI. The sheriff's office has not confirmed whether the case is being treated as a kidnapping, though officials have described it as an active and complex investigation.

Video released by the FBI earlier this month shows a masked intruder on Nancy Guthrie's front steps wearing distinctive clothing. Investigators are appealing for information that could help identify the individual or the items seen in the footage.

A source familiar with the inquiry told Fox News Digital that one of the doorbell camera images was recorded on a different date from the others, suggesting the suspect may have visited the property prior to the abduction. However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has urged caution in interpreting those timestamps, calling some of the speculation around the footage 'premature'. The FBI said it continues to analyse both the video and physical evidence from the scene in hopes of identifying the suspect.

The family's decision to announce a reward followed consultation with investigators. According to Guthrie, officials advised delaying the offer until later in the inquiry to avoid overwhelming law enforcement with unmanageable volumes of tips. Authorities have already received tens of thousands of leads since the disappearance was reported.
