Taylor Swift Unbothered by Leaked Text Messages Despite it Affecting Blake Lively Friendship

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have been friends for many years. In fact, they have one of the closest bonds in Hollywood, and this extends to their respective families. Swift also happens to be the godmother of Lively and Ryan Reynolds' children.

Even though fans are aware of how close Swift and Lively are, they were still surprised to learn about the message exchanges between the two. Just like any other close friends, Swift and Lively used to text each other regularly. However, it is the contents of their text messages that are raising alarm bells among netizens.

Unbothered and Unconcerned

Despite the shocking revelations in the leaked text messages between the A-listers, a source for Page Six claimed that Swift is unbothered by it all. Amid the controversy, the Cornelia Street singer is focused on planning her wedding to Travis Kelce.

The publication also said that Swift is not concerned with Lively's ongoing legal battle against Justin Baldoni because it doesn't involve her. Even if this is the case though, the leaked text messages reportedly affected Swift and Lively's friendship negatively.

Another source told People last week that Swift just wants to stay out of the ongoing drama involving the It Ends With Us co-stars. The insider also said that Swift didn't think her private conversations with Lively would ever be leaked, and she was just trying to be a good friend to the actress.

Controversial Text Exchanges

Swift and Lively's leaked text messages go as far back as 2023 when the latter was still filming her movie with Baldoni. One of their conversations show Lively sending Swift a copy of her revised script and asking the singer for help in convincing her director to accept her suggestions. As a dedicated friend, Swift told Lively that she would do anything for her.

Another text messages shows Lively telling Swift that if Baldoni was strategic, he wouldn't have allowed the singer's song to be featured in their movie trailer. After all, the Gossip Girl alum thinks the move gave Swift more power of their project.

Months later, Lively checked in on her pal via another text message and asked if everything was still good between them. The Dress singer told Lively that she noticed a shift on how the actress constructed her messages. A month later, Swift messaged Lively about Baldoni receiving an award for women.

Singer's Popularity Ratings Dropped

As of writing, it is unclear why Swift and Lively's text messages were leaked and who was behind it. Regardless, it left an impact on the once close friends' relationship and popularity. Even before the conversations were made public, Swift's popularity was already on a steep decline.

According to a YouGov survey, the singer's popularity dropped to 46.7 percent. Last year, Swift's popularity rating was around 55.4%. The next popularity vote will take place in April, and this is where the public can see whether Swift's ratings will decrease or increase months after the text message controversy.

For now, Swift remains unfazed by all the talks surrounding her and Lively. She is reportedly more focused on her upcoming wedding to Kelce, which is rumoured to take place sometime this year.
