Donald Trump has sparked a fresh wave of online reaction after posting a bizarre map of Iran that appeared to resemble his own silhouette. He followed it with a separate declaration that 'THE MOON IS OURS'.

The posts came as part of a rapid series of Truth Social updates targeting Iran, with Trump also commenting on the country's economy, oil exports and the strategic Kharg Island. The unusual sequence quickly divided social media users, with some mocking the posts while others defended the president.

Trump's Iran Map and 'The Moon Is Ours' Posts Raise Eyebrows

Trump published several posts about Iran on Sunday, including an image showing the country's outline appearing to morph into a shape resembling his head and distinctive hairstyle. He later shared an image of the Moon carrying the words 'THE MOON IS OURS' alongside an American flag.

The posts were part of a wider flurry of Truth Social activity that included memes, AI-generated images and political messages, according to media reports.

The posts came alongside a series of more conventional political messages. Trump wrote that 'Iran is a failing nation', while other posts focused on the country's currency and inflation.

He also shared an image depicting an apparent attack on Kharg with the words 'Bye bye, Kharg'. Kharg is a small island in the Persian Gulf and a key hub for Iran's oil exports.

Trump also used the posting spree to promote his administration's economic record. He highlighted his claim that oil volumes through the Strait of Hormuz had recovered to 18 million barrels per day, while also celebrating August's jobs figures, which showed 162,000 jobs added, nearly three times economists' expectations.

Trump's 18 million-barrel figure was presented in a graphic on his Truth Social account, although independent analysts have questioned whether actual flows were that high.

Social Media Reactions Split Over Trump's Posts

The reaction was sharply mixed. Critics questioned why the president was publishing such unusual imagery while tensions with Iran remained high, with some describing the posts as evidence of erratic behaviour and others calling for him to be removed from office.

Journalist Aaron Rupar described the series as a string of 'absolutely bonkers' Truth Social posts. Others called Trump 'unhinged', 'insane' and 'sick'.

'This is what the President of the United States is reduced to, lost in an insane imagination land, because he can't do anything of consequence in the real world because he is impotent,' another critic wrote.

Others took a more dismissive view, treating the Iran image and Moon declaration as trolling or political spectacle. Some Trump supporters accused his opponents and the media of overreacting, while others joked about the idea that the Moon had become part of an American territorial claim.

The volume and tone of the posts nevertheless drew attention because they came directly from the president's own social media account. National-security messaging appeared alongside promotional and meme-style content.

Trump Health Claims Resurface After Latest Online Activity

The posts also prompted speculation online about Trump's mental health, with some users reviving previously raised concerns.

These claims are unverified and have been rejected by the White House.

Several users on X described the posts as a 'mental health episode' — a claim with no medical basis.

Questions about Trump's cognitive health have surfaced repeatedly during his presidency, including amid previous public scrutiny of his age and cognitive abilities.

The White House has rejected suggestions that Trump has cognitive decline. In a medical memo released in May, White House physician Dr Sean Barbabella wrote that Trump 'remains in excellent health', describing his cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function as strong.

Barbabella also said Trump was 'fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State'.
