Activists have said that at least 65 people, apparently shot in the head, were found dead with their hands bound beside a river in a district of the northern Syrian city of Aleppo.

This unverified footage which was posted on a social media site shows the bodies laid out in a covered space. Relatives stand alongside trying to identify the bodies as notes are put on the dead bodies. The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which provides information about both sides from a network of monitors, said the death toll could rise as high as 80

John Ging from the UN Humanitarian department spoke out to journalists at a press conference following his trip saying the scale of devastation is "shocking", he said

And following President Obamas's commitment to providing additional $155 million in humanitarian aid to Syria.

Representatives from more than 60 countries are attending a UN conference in Kuwait today to hear U.N. appeals to pledge up to $1.5 billion to help Syrians caught in the civil war and an estimated 700,000 refugees in neighbouring countries such as Jordan and Turkey.
