Brave Woman Security Guard Helps Remove Nazi Flag at Orlando MMA Event in Orlando's Kia Center

A woman appeared to take matters into her own hands when a Nazi flag was raised inside Orlando's Kia Center during a controversial combat sports event on August 29.

Footage circulating online shows the swastika banner being confronted and removed as the incident unfolded, turning an already contentious night of fighting into a wider debate over antisemitism, venue security and the boundaries of what should be allowed at major sporting events.

The incident happened during Duel Arena 1, a combat-sports event that featured a highly controversial bout between Jewish fighter Ben Azoulay and Paul 'Gypsy Crusader' Miller. Miller has been classified as a neo-Nazi and white supremacist by the Anti-Defamation League and other extremism-monitoring organisations.

A large red flag bearing a black swastika was later seen being held above the crowd, while witnesses and video also captured apparent Nazi-style salutes. Jewish organisations and public officials condemned the spectacle.

The video shared on Instagram shows the moment a woman security guard appears to move toward the display and help pull it down, apparently without waiting for a group of people to intervene.

The guard's name has not been publicly reported in the accounts reviewed. Orlando venue officials, meanwhile, said the flag was removed after venue staff became aware of it.

The swastika display came during a night already surrounded by controversy. Miller, who uses the online name 'Gypsy Crusader', fought Azoulay in a bout that attracted scrutiny because of Miller's extremist background.

Azoulay, who is Jewish, later described the incident as deeply disturbing in a statement to the media. Patrick Clark Jr., the former WWE performer known as Velveteen Dream, also recorded footage of the Nazi flag from inside the arena.

Clark told FOX 35 that he could not believe what he was seeing and said he had lived in Orlando for six years without experiencing anything similar. He also alleged that Nazi-style gestures were made after the co-main event.

The Combat Antisemitism Movement said footage showed that spectators waved a Nazi flag and performed Nazi-style salutes during the event, adding to the online backlash.

Kia Center Faces Questions Over Security

The incident has also raised questions about how the large flag entered the venue. The Kia Center is a city-owned facility with security procedures and a strict bag policy.

Orlando Venues said it did not condone the message displayed at the event and said the flag was removed once staff noticed it. However, the department did not explain to Orlando Weekly how the banner got through security.

The controversy is particularly significant because the Kia Center is a major Orlando venue capable of hosting thousands of spectators and is home to the NBA's Orlando Magic.
