The pick of today's Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga football transfer rumours, news and gossip for 12 August, 2011. All the latest transfer rumours surrounding Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, Barcelona and Real Madrid will be covered here.

Premier League

Manchester United have abandoned all hope of signing Wesley Sneidjer from Inter Milan, after the Old Trafford club reached a stalemate over the Dutchman's £200,000-a-week wage demands. United also look set to miss out on Luka Modric and Samir Nasri, with Sir Alex Ferguson content to start the new season with his current options in midfield.

Could Robin van Persie become the next star to leave in "the great Arsenal exodus"? The Sun certainly thinks so, with the Dutch international set to leave the Emirates next summer. Where will it end, Arsene?

The Frenchman has moved swiftly to reinvest money from selling Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, with bids for Valencia forward Juan Mata and Bolton's Gary Cahill in the works. Wenger is also interested in £12m-rated Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson and could conclude a deal for FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz after the player hinted at a Premier League move: "I have three weeks left to transfer and I hope I can change to one of the best leagues, such as the English, otherwise I will stay in Twente," he said. "There is a team that is showing interest, but it will be my agent that keeps me informed about the negotiations."

Tottenham are also interested in Ruiz, with boss Harry Redknapp prepared to "step up" the club's interest in Blackburn defender Chris Samba with a cash-plus-Sebastien Bassong offer, according to talkSPORT.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to scupper Real Madrid's bid to sign Santos striker Neymar with a cheeky £40m punt for the Brazil international.

La Liga

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has confirmed the club's interest in Porto striker Falcao, who has a £80m release clause.

"Falcao is a great player and we are trying to sign a great player, however, we are talking about a lot of money (to activate the release clause)," Cerezo said on Maisfutebol - via ESPN Soccer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona target Neymar is no psychic: ''I'm not talking about the future,'' he said. ''I'm only focused on the national team and Santos, and then we'll see what happens. It is not an issue I need to worry or talk about.''

Serie A

Despite his failure to agree a new contract, Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi is calm about his future: "The contract is an important thing and we must do everything right," he told Il Corriere dello Sport. "The discourse cannot be made clear if things are not clear just yet. It's an important situation. Many people are waiting for news over my contract and so we must do things right."

Inter's Davide Santon will not be leaving the San Siro this summer, according to his agent. "There is no chance of Santon going to Genoa," agent Renzo Contratto told Pianetagenoa1893.net. "There has been no contact of any kind regarding this rumour. It's actually the first I've heard of it."

Finally, FIFA agent Giorgio De Giorgis thinks AC Milan want to sign Mario Balotelli: "I think that Milan's true objective is Balotelli," De Giorgis told Radio Sportiva.
