A stirring and powerful selection of photos of the British Army have been unveiled today as part of the annual 2011 Army Photographic Competition Awards.
The pictures have been taken by both amateur and professional photographers in Afghanistan and on training exercises at home.
The overall winning photograph was taken by Sergeant Rupert Frere shows a soldier smiling at four small children in Afghanistan.
The winning shots are now on display at the Imperial War Museum in London, but you can view some of the award winning photographs in this slideshow.
