Ten points separate Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen

Barring a late collapse in form, Schalke are set to join the big boys in the Champions League.

Last season they made it to the semi-finals of the competition- and a strong finish this year

would guarantee European football for "The Miners."

Unfortunately for their Bundesliga opponents, Champions League glory is but a pipe dream for Leverkusen

Boss Robin Dutt is trying to keep faith- but fans know that they should start making plans for next season.

BAYER 04 LEVERKUSEN, ROBIN DUTT, SAYING:

The team must not lose its optimism. They cannot lose their mentality towards daily results. They have to keep working towards their goal and their goal is still two-tiered. It is the short-term here and now, and the other are the mid-term to long-term goals. You must not give them up."

Schalke will play Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
