Chelsea are reportedly preparing a move for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot in the ongoing transfer window.

The Metro reports that the Blues have already tabled a £7m bid to acquire the left footed midfielder's services. Rabiot's current contract will expire at the end of next season and he has rejected an offer of extension to enhance his chances of leaving the reigning French Champions this summer.

Earlier reports suggested that Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City too were monitoring the youngster, hoping to sign him in a cut-price deal. But the west London club look to have surged ahead of their fellow Premier League rivals.

Jose Mourinho is looking to add a midfielder to his squad and Rabiot seems to fit his requirements. Reports suggest that the France U-21 international is keen on leaving Parc des Princes due to intense competition from the quartet of Yohan Cabaye, Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti and Thiago Motta.

The report claims that Chelsea had enquired about Rabiot's availability to PSG during the January transfer window but opted against pursuing him after he picked up a knee injury.

The 19-year-old, who is also capable of playing on the wings, featured 34 times for the Parisian club last season, 50% of which were off the bench. Earlier this year, the French capital outfit's manager Laurent Blanc has expressed his desire to retain the youngster on his roster for the long-term.

Reports also suggest that Juventus and Roma too are keen on signing Rabiot, who was once a part of City's youth academy. However, his mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot has denied claims of negotiations with foreign clubs and will begin talks if his current employers accept an offer from potential suitors.

"I deny any agreement with Roma and with any other clubs. My son has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain (expiring in 2015) but he does not want to extend it," Sky Sports quoted V Rabiot as saying.

"If the club want to sell him this summer, we will begin to listen to the proposals that will come. Otherwise we'll respect the rules and we won't talk with any club."

"Juventus? If they were to make an offer to PSG and they accepted it, it would be a solution that could be of interest for my son," she concluded.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have signed 19-year-old midfielder Mario Pasalic from Hajduk Split. The German born Croatian youngster, dubbed as 'the new Luka Modric', becomes the Blues' second summer signing after Cesc Fabregas.
