Arsenal forward Benik Afobe has completed his loan move to MK Dons on Monday. The England U21 international will spend the 2014/15 season with the League One outfit.

"MK Dons have completed the signing of Arsenal striker Benik Afobe on a season-long loan deal. Afobe, who will make his debut against Leicester City tonight, will wear the number 23 shirt," a statement read on MK Dons' official website.

The 21-year-old came up through the ranks of the Gunners' youth system, before making it to the first team in 2010. However, he is yet to feature for the north London club's senior team.

The English forward spent the past few seasons on-loan away from the Emirates and his loan spell will now continue for one more year. After making a switch to Stadiummk, Afobe expressed his delight as he is eyeing to get more playing time with the League One outfit.

"I'm really pleased. As soon as I spoke to the manager I knew this is what I wanted to do. It was an easy decision for me," Afobe said after completing his move to MK Dons.

"I'm a striker who will hopefully score a few goals, I've got good pace and I link to link-up with the midfielders and wingers."

"I'm just really looking forward to getting going now. I just want to play games and help this team out as much as I can," the forward concluded.

Meanwhile, Afobe's parent club Arsenal also issued a statement and wished him luck for the new campaign.

"Benik Afobe has joined League One side MK Dons on loan for the 2014/15 season. Afobe heads to stadiummk to gain further first-team experience. Everyone at Arsenal wishes Benik the best of luck for his time with MK Dons," said Arsenal in the statement released on their official website.
