Overview

Crystal Palace enter this fixture after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City in the last league tie. A late goal from Yohan Cabaye was a consolation for the Eagles as the outcome of the match was already decided even before the Frenchman's goal.

Alan Pardew will be hoping his side can bounce back from their recent run, where they are without a win in the league in the last three matches, with two consecutive defeats. Palace will be looking for three points when they host the Reds on Saturday.

In the four matches played in the league at home, Pardew's side have managed only one win so far. They will be looking for the second league win at Selhurt Park against Liverpool, who are enjoying a great start to the season.

Christian Benteke can provide some threat to Liverpool, his former club this weekend. The Belgium international left Anfield just after spending one season with the Reds and made a switch to Palace. He will be looking forward to showcase his worth, something he failed to do on a regular basis during his time with the Reds.

Liverpool come into this fixture after registering a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the EFL Cup. Their latest win has seen them progress to the quarter-final of the cup competition, where they will now take on Leeds United in the next tie.

In the last league fixture, Jurgen Klopp saw his men seal a comfortable 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion. Goals from Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho was sufficient for Liverpool to seal three points.

What managers say

Alan Pardew: "I think Liverpool always have great players in any era. There is a momentum and intensity about them - and no Europe is helping them. We have to focus on all the fantastic individuals they have. The way the league is panning out, you have to put Liverpool in contention for the title."

Jurgen Klopp: "When you have a player like Christian in your squad, of course we knew about his quality. But every player needs the space to perform, to develop and to show things. For different reasons we couldn't give him all the time [he needed], you lose a little bit of confidence, you feel pressure."
