D4vd Allegedly Not the First 'Adult' to Have a Relationship With Celeste Rivas: Who Is Gus? Here's What We Know So Far

As online speculation surrounding the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas intensifies, internet sleuths are dissecting every digital trace linked to her life. Rivas was found severely decomposed in the boot of a Tesla in a Los Angeles impound lot on 8 September 2025. It was later confirmed that the vehicle was registered to Here With Me singer David Anthony Burke.

Impound staff had reportedly detected a foul odour coming from the vehicle prior to the discovery, prompting further inspection. The case has since been classified as a murder investigation.

Online users have now identified another individual, arguing that D4vd, 20, may not have been the first adult involved with Rivas. Many have alleged that the two were in a relationship, citing her mother's statement that Rivas had a boyfriend named David, as well as photos and matching tattoos.

Some now claim that an alleged ex-boyfriend, reportedly in his 20s at the time of their relationship, may have come before him—but who exactly is Gus? Here's everything we know so far.

The Instagram DMs that Started It All

Discussion of Gus largely stems from Instagram messages and Reddit posts analysed by YouTube content creator Trap More Ross.

In the video, he showed an Instagram conversation between Rivas and an identified person that has been circulating online, mentioning her sexual relationship with David and a guy named Gus, who is allegedly Rivas' ex-boyfriend.

On the DMs, what appears to be Rivas and an unidentified person, most likely a friend, are talking; the friend said they wanted to check on Rivas and asked her to stay safe.

The friend also said, 'are u still gna talk to david? Or back with him bc i don't want u to get anymore trouble with him.'

To which Rivas replied, 'I'm safe' and 'I'm not.' The friend also said that she loves Rivas and not to delete her Instagram account.

In a separate screenshot, Rivas said to the same friend that she had sex with a guy named David, and people are convinced that it was the singer. She said, 'I only bled with David.'

It was followed by a message where she mentioned a person named Gus. It is also the same person who ignited the speculation that the teenager was previously groomed by another man, even before the singer.

She said, 'W Gus I was js drunk n did it bc he got mad at me the first time for not having sex w him.'

Ross shared another Reddit post where Rivas' brother allegedly confirmed that the Instagram account and the person sharing about a sexual relationship was indeed his sister.

The confirmation read: 'that's my sister dawg.' He also said that he knew a guy named Gus, revealing that Gus had been shot and was now dead.

Who Was Gus And What Is Known About His Death?

Public records indicate that Gustavo Morales Jr was 21 years old when he died in 2020 after being shot by Noah Arath Buenrostro. Authorities arrested Buenrostro in connection with the fatal shooting of Gustavo on 14 October 2020 in Lake Elsinore, California — the same city where Rivas was from. Gustavo was pronounced dead at the scene.

But eight months before he was killed in the shooting, Gustavo was also facing felony charges of carjacking, robbery, kidnapping with the intent to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy.

According to Dignity Memorial's website, Gustavo was born on 5 July 1999 in West Covina, California.

Gustavo is also the same person that internet sleuths alleges to be the first adult who took advantage of Rivas.

At present, all such claims remain allegations circulating online. Neither Rivas' family nor law enforcement authorities have confirmed any connection between these individuals and the ongoing investigation.
