US country legend Dolly Parton is preparing to grace the stage at this year's Glastonbury festival.

The 68-year-old singer will join the impressive line-up which includes Arcade Fire and Lily Allen at the annual summer extravaganza, which will be held at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

After months of speculation, the Stand By Your Man songstress used Twitter to confirm her appearance to her 13 million followers.

Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis also announced that the 9-5 star would make her festival debut in the Sunday Legends slot.

The highly-anticipated performance will follow the release of Parton's 42nd studio album Blue Smoke, which hits stores on May 12.

It will also form part of her Blue Smoke World Tour, which kicks off in Liverpool on 8 June.

Meanwhile, Blondie star Debbie Harry has also annouced that the group has also secured a slot at the annual event.

"We just heard today - we're going to be doing Glastonbury!" she told Bang Showbiz at the NME Awards.

Glastonbury Festival 2014 takes place between 25-29 June.
