Overview

Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils, two teams lodged at the upper half of the table, take on each other in the IPL on Tuesday. Host Gujarat are the team to beat, winning six out of eight games.

Gujarat though come into this game on the back of a shock 23 run loss to Kings XI Punjab and will look to get back to winning ways. The problem for the Lions is that their middle order is untested, with only Dinesh Karthik showing glimpses of form, while Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja are struggling with the bat.

A win here will give them a definite boost in their bid to qualify for the knock-out stages.

Many had expected their opponents Delhi Daredevils to struggle in this year's IPL but they have surprised everyone with their performances so far. Despite not having a superstar as such, the Daredevils have ensured that all their players contribute and play their role.

Skipper Zaheer Khan and spinner Amit Mishra have shown their class with the ball. What will be of concern is the form of Quinton de Kock, the South African who has struggled since he scored 108 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Delhi outfit are currently on eight points from six games and a win here will take them level with Mumbai Indians, who are second on the points table.
