International Premier Tennis League 2014: All You Need to Know

The legends from the past and the present of World Tennis are set to descend upon Asia to take part in the International Tennis Premier League founded by Indian tennis great Mahesh Bhupathi.

This tournament is the first city-based professional league in the world and it will span a total of 16 days and will take place in four countries, India, Philippines, Singapore and UAE. It is a franchise based tournament, which sees the participation of 24 current and former tennis stars, who were drafted into four of the city-based franchises.

The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) is going to be played between star-studded teams featuring current stars like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams and former stars like Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Carlos Moya among others.

The tournament will take place in a round robin format, with each franchise playing the other three and the team that garners most points, will be crowned the inaugural 2014 IPTL Champion.
