Seems like the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 failed to live up to expectations. While fans termed the mega event "boring" on Twitter, some liked the performance of West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and Bollywood star Ranveer Singh.
The only cricketing aspect of the ceremony was Ravi Shastri inviting all eight captains of the participating teams, which was followed by a short speech by IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla. Even as the show began with some moving musical performances, famed Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh's act seemed way below par. Nonetheless, Singh saved the night with his dance moves, while Jacqueline Fernandez and Katrina Kaif got audiences to their feet.
IBTimes UK has compiled some tweets of the IPL opening ceremony.
