Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema wants to see the club launch a bid to sign Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, who is being heavily linked with a £100m ($125.63m) move to the Bernabeu. The Belgium international has made a dramatic return to form this season to inspire Antonio Conte's side to within five wins of the Premier League title.

Hazard has scored 14 goals and made six assists in all competitions for the west Londoners this season, earning him a nomination for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award. The former Lille forward has been one of the most outstanding performers of the campaign, just a year on from enduring a nightmare season as the Blues produced a woeful defence of their title.

His displays have not gone unnoticed, with Real linked with breaking the world transfer record to lure him from Chelsea this summer.

The 26-year-old has recently done little to defuse the speculation surrounding his future and Benzema has urged president Florentino Perez to make Hazard his latest marquee addition.

The France international told Telefoot, according to Goal.com: "[Hazard] is a very good player, what can I say? I have not seen the rumours, but it's obvious that he would be a good signing."

Chelsea boss Conte has been unwilling to discuss the future of Hazard or striker Diego Costa of late, instead choosing to focus on a title campaign which is threatening to be undone by a recent run of bad form.

Defeat to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United reduced the gap between them and Tottenham Hotspur to four games with six matches remaining.

Speaking prior to the 2-0 loss at Old Trafford, Hazard admitted he does have ambitions of playing for rival clubs even before his current contract expires in the summer of 2020 – yet nothing will be decided before the season reaches its climax.

"When it's not PSG [Paris Saint-Germain], it's Real," he told Telefoot. "And then perhaps it'll be Bayern [Munich]… Bizarrely, last year, there was no one! There are always personal ambitions to play for other clubs, dreams. But I try to focus on the present. As I said, I first have things to finish with Chelsea this year. Then, I'll go on holiday. We'll see after that. I have a contract until 2020. For the moment, I'm here, I'm good."
