Barbie Dolls of Prince William and Kate Middleton to be launched in April. Amazon.com

Toy giants Mattel Inc. have announced the launch of dolls resembling Prince Williams and the Duchess of Cambridge, on the occasion of their one-year wedding anniversary, which will be this April.

The Barbie doll-like figurines, measuring 11.5 inches in height, will come dressed in full wedding attire... just as their originals wore at Westminster Abbey for their nuptials.

Prince William's doll will be in traditional uniform... featuring a red jacket, a blue sash and gold detailing. His wife, Kate Middleton (well... the doll, anyway), will wear a floor-length ivory gown, with a lace torso and a full skirt.

The Barbie doll William and Catherine Royal Wedding Collector's Gift Set will be released on April 7. It is, however, currently available for pre-orders on Amazon, at a price of £99.99.

The original Barbie doll, incidentally celebrated her 50th birthday in 2009. She was created by American businesswoman Ruth Handler and based on a German doll called Bild Lilli. The first Barbie dolls were launched in March of 1959 and wore black-and-white striped swimsuits.
