Keshia Chanté's Rep Denies Drake Is Baby's Father, Says Mystery Dad Is a 'Public Figure in Music'
Chanté said her partner is a public figure in music but has chosen not to reveal his identity

Keshia Chanté's representative has denied that Drake is the father of her unborn son, describing the baby's dad as a 'public figure in music' without naming him.
The statement, reported on 7 October, followed a denial from Drake's team after speculation circulated around the Canadian singer and television presenter's pregnancy announcement. XXL reported that both representatives rejected the suggestion that the longtime friends were expecting a child together.
Chanté has since addressed the claim herself. During a reported appearance on Toronto broadcaster CP24 on 7 October, she said Drake was not the father and confirmed that her partner works in music.
Two Denials After Pregnancy Reveal
Chanté announced her pregnancy on 6 October, sharing maternity photographs and discussing the news in an interview with Hello! Canada. The former 106 & Park presenter revealed that she was expecting her first child, a boy, while leaving her partner's name out of the announcement.
Drake's representatives at The Agency Group subsequently rejected the paternity rumours. A spokesperson also told E! News: 'It's false.'
The following day, Chanté's representative separately ruled out Drake. The description of the father as a public figure in music provided some information about him, but did not identify his profession more precisely or disclose his name.
Neither statement suggested that Chanté and Drake were announcing a relationship. Both were responses to speculation about the pregnancy.
Chanté Addresses the Rumour Herself
'He is not the dad,' Chanté said during the CP24 appearance, according to coverage of the interview.
She described her son's father as someone she loves and confirmed that he is both involved in the music industry and a public figure. Her comments reinforced the representative's denial while preserving the same boundary around her partner's identity.
The distinction is significant: Chanté has spoken publicly about becoming a mother and about her partner's creative background. Those disclosures do not establish who he is, and they provide no basis for identifying another musician through guesswork.
Why Drake's Name Entered the Conversation
Chanté and Drake have a public connection stretching back years. In 2022, he introduced her onstage at his All Canadian North Stars concert in Toronto as the first girlfriend he had ever had.
Chanté later described the introduction as especially meaningful and the appearance as a full-circle moment, recalling their ambitions when they were younger. That history helps explain why his name appeared in discussion of her announcement, but an earlier relationship is not evidence of present-day paternity.
A Studio Joke and Plans for Motherhood
Her pregnancy announcement included a playful reference to a musical future for the baby. Chanté joked that his father had already arranged studio time and that an album would follow in summer 2027. The remark concerned an imaginary recording career, not a stated due date.
Away from the speculation, her message focused on the experiences she hoped to share with her child, including holidays, adventures and family memories.
In the accompanying interview, she praised her partner's creativity and said she hoped their son would inherit some of his mannerisms. She also made clear that she was in a relationship, describing herself as 'unavailable,' while continuing to keep his name private.
