Barcelona will look to retain the top spot in La Liga by beating Las Palmas at Estadio Gran Canaria on 14 May.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports 5 HD.

Overview

Las Palmas fell to their third straight defeat on the bounce as they fell to a 1-0 loss at Sporting Gijon. The islanders have lost their last three meetings with Barcelona.

Striker Marko Livaja will miss the visit of Barcelona through suspension.

Lionel Messi scored twice as Barcelona held on to top spot in La Liga with a 4-1 victory over Villarreal on 6 May. The Catalan giants are ahead of Real Madrid by virtue of their superior head-to-head record, but the capital club have a game in hand.

Jeremy Mathieu, Rafinha and Aleix Vidal remain sidelined through injury for the visitors, while Sergi Roberto is suspended.

What managers say

Quique Setien: "The squad I have has players that move the ball very well, but now they are suffering a lot when they do not have it. We were more aggressive [against Sporting Gijon] than in other games. Some players played with a lot of pressure and that is affecting their actions." [via Marca]

Luis Enrique: "Because of [the game's] difficulty and our need for points, it's a very important victory [against Villarreal]. From the beginning, we were very much in the game. In the second half, the difference in rhythm that we had imposed on our rivals was felt more as they defended for a lot of the first half. Villarreal sat back because we had a very complete game. They're a team that usually carry the weight of a game." [via Football Espana]
