Jordan Ibe
Jordan Ibe is a target for a loan-spell at Derby.

Derby County are interested in taking Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.

Ibe has featured for the Reds just once this season, playing a Capital One Cup match against Notts County at the end of August, and since has been unable to break into Brendan Rodgers' line-up.

As a result reports have increased that the 17-year-old might be keen on a loan to increase his game time and the Mirror are reporting that Derby are set to try to convince Rodgers to part with the youngster in order to let him develop his skills further.

Derby already have Andre Wisdom on board on a temporary basis from the Merseyside club and believe that if they can add to that contingent they will seriously challenge for promotion back to the top-flight.

The Rams are currently sit in ninth place in the Championship table but are just two points off the play-offs and would certainly be boosted by having another winger in their ranks.

And with Liverpool reportedly keen to get Ibe more playing time it would appear that the deal could work for all involved, and allow Derby and the Reds to continue their positive transfer relationship that is currently seeing Wisdom get more regular playing time as well.

The report comes off the back of Rodgers denying that Liverpool had agreed a move for Derby's Will Hughes despite claims the sides had agreed a £12m fee.

Speculation mounted that the deal would be done for the midfielder, seen as an eventual successor to Steven Gerrard, as Steve McClaren was wrapping up the move for Wisdom but the manager also denied there was any connection between the two deals.
