Overview

City enter this fixture after coming from behind to seal a 2-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor. Dean Marney gave an early lead to Sean Dyche's side, which had put pressure on the visitors as they were the favourites for the clash.

Sergio Aguero equalized in the 37th minute and his second goal of the match at the hour mark was sufficient for Pep Guardiola's side to seal three crucial points. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager will be hoping to replicate his side's away form in the league at the Etihad.

In the last five away league fixtures, City have managed four wins and suffered a defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. However, Guardiola has seen his side settle for 1-1 draw in the last three league ties at home.

Chelsea, on the other hand have been in fine form in the league and have won all their league matches since suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates. They won seven games in a row and have conceded only one goal in the process, which came during their 2-1 win over Tottenham at home.

Antonio Conte will be targeting another win when his side take on City on Saturday. A victory will see them retain their top spot and a defeat could see their unbeaten run in the league come to an end.

The Blues have been fine form in the league in recent times, while Guardiola's side have suffered at home in the league. It should be seen whether the Catalan manager can help his side seal a victory at the Etihad when they take on Chelsea.

What managers say

Pep Guardiola: "This month is so important. We're going to see our level. I'm not thinking about what happens if we win or we don't win the games. I'm most thinking about what will be our level and if we will be able to fight until the last moments of the season. I'm curious about how we compete, how our football will be against these three, four really good teams. After that we're going to analyse, to keep going until the end. That is what I am concerned about most in this moment," Guardiola was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

Antonio Conte: "I remember in my first press conference that not many people trusted in Chelsea, in our work. I think this must be a great strength for us to continue to work and to change people's opinions. We are working for ourselves, for our club, for our fans, to show that we love this shirt, we love this club. It's normal if you are a great team like Chelsea, and you play or are the manager of this great team, the expectation is always high," Sky sports reported Conte as saying.
