Manchester City will take on CSKA Moscow in the midweek Champions League at the Etihad on Wednesday 5 November.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is at 7:45pm GMT. Live coverage is on Sky Sports 5 and Sky Sports 5 HD. Radio commentary of the match will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Overview

City come into this after game ending their three-match winless run against local rivals Manchester United during the derby at the Etihad. Louis van Gaal's side were reduced to 10-men in the first half after defender Chris Smalling was sent off.

Sergio Aguero netted the only goal of the match and the result will give them a much-needed boost ahead of the crucial European fixture on Wednesday. The tie will be the return leg of the group stage fixture as the last time these two teams met ended in a 2-2 draw at Arena Khimki in October.

Manuel Pellegrini's side are third in the table with two points after first three matches, while CSKA are at the bottom of Group E with just a point. A defeat for either of the sides at the Etihad is likely to make it very difficult for them to qualify for the next round of the tournament.

The Russian outfit enter this fixture after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Zenit St Petersburg in front of the home fans. They need nothing less than a win in order to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The fixture is going to be very exciting as City are in search of their first win in the European competition this season.

What Managers Say

Manuel Pellegrini: "It's a totally different competition, so it's not because we've won [against United] that we're going to play well and win against Moscow. Hopefully we can start winning, because we haven't won a game yet in this competition. We still have a chance to go through and that's the main objective for the club. A team like us should go through and do well in Europe. It starts on Wednesday and that will be a big game as well."

Leonid Viktorovich Slutsky: "In our previous meeting my team showed character as we managed to perform a comeback to chalk up our first point this season. Hopefully, we can achieve a positive result away in Manchester as well."
