Manchester United are reportedly eager to sign Bordeaux wunderkind Adam Ounas. The 19-year-old attacker has burst on the scene this season and new United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be keen to strike a deal for around £20m ($29m).

The Old Trafford club are long-time admirers of the skilful youngster, who is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties in European football.

Ounas made his first-team debut with Bordeaux last season and made an immediate impression, making 28 appearances and scoring six goals during his debut campaign.

Ounas is valued by the French club at around £20m ($29m), but that figure is not thought to have dissuaded United from pursuing the transfer as they look to inject more pace in their front line, according to the Daily Mail. Any move for the France Under-20 international could put the future of Juan Mata in doubt.

The Spaniard was sold by Mourinho during his second spell in charge at Chelsea and it could be that he is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford. Ounas' playing style is strikingly similar to Mata and it seems unlikely they could play in the same side.
